News reports rung out that morning
Views were shown of all the mourning
Reviews thru day without warning
News was not pleasing this morning
Twin Towers hit by two airplanes
Within the chaos was much pain
When it came down there were remains
Twin Towers hit who can explain.
Known now as the “Patriot’s Day”
Moan for the souls lost we still pray
Groan for loved ones that went away
Known as “Hero’s on that sad day
Another year since that event
Others still live with the torment
Mothers and others still lament
Another day in tears we vent

From out of the pit I cried.
Lord help me- you know I’ve tried,
To walk this path from day to day
Doing my best to do it your way.
This journey Lord seems hard and long.
I know I can’t make it on my own.
Lord I’ve tried time after time.
Sometimes I feel like I’m losing my mind.
Lord I’m crying from out of this pit.
I’m even writing while I’m in it.
Lord this is a cold and lonely place.
Lord help me to feel your loving grace.
From out of this pit I’m crying for others.
I’m crying Lord for the hurting mothers.
I’m even writing to help strengthen others.
From out of this pit- I present you to my brothers.
*This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him,
and saved him out of all his troubles.

Mary Ann's First book
While facing the challenges of life struggles, addictions from within, generational curses and trying to keep peace of mind, I found healing through writing. Words of comfort, hope, encouragement and strength come from my heart to yours. I have taken no formal lessons in the art of poetry. While searching for answers to life’s struggles the Lord inspired me to write. This became an outlet and therapy for me and also a testimony to share with others. I am learning it is not about me, but Him (God). I know He will get the glory as I share our story.
